1.ENROLMENT

The Master's Final Thesis (MFT) is registered within the enrolment period of the degree.

The MFT enrolment includes the possibility of presenting it in different calls announced by the program coordination.

In the event, the MFT is not passed in any of the available calls of the course, it will be necessary to re-enrol the following year according to the regulations of the School or Faculty and the degree program.

Incompatibilities for the defense of the MFT

The defense of the MFT can only be done once all the degree subjects have been passed. Therefore, to be able to register, it is necessary to have taken or have enrolled in all the subjects that make up the degree at the same time (taking into account any enrolment restrictions that may exist).

2.DIRECTION OF THE MFT

All lecturers who act as the director of the MFT must belong to the teaching staff of La Salle - Universitat Ramon Llull. The director of the MFT will guarantee the quality and coherence of the and coherence of specifications of the MFT, the roadmap for its execution, and will guide students during the completion of the MFT.

Co-direction of MFT

The figure of co-direction may exist in a MFT. The responsible co-director is the one who will notify the degree coordination. Therefore, only one of the two co-directors will be responsible for entering or validating the information in the registration and completion process of the project (see the detailed “PROCESS” document, next).

Co-direction of external MFT

If the work is carried out within the framework of a company or some institution other than La Salle – Universitat Ramon Llull, the figure of MFT co-direction may exist. In this case, also, the figure of a co-director of the La Salle MFT will be necessary, as defined above, to guarantee the monitoring of the MFT and attendance on the day of the public defense. In this case, the responsible co-director must notify the degree coordination. The responsible co-director will be in charge of entering or validating the information in the registration and completion process of the project (see the detailed “PROCESS” document, below).

3.DELIVERY DEADLINES OF THE REPORT AND PERIODS OF THE PUBLIC DEFENSE

All MFT will be monitored by the assigned MFT management. In these meetings, the work carried out by the students will be reviewed and they will be advised on its correct execution.

The work has four review points that the students must comply with. Failure to comply with each point will imply the loss of the call. These are:

  • Project registration: The work's title must be specified, along with a short description of it, in addition to including the director and co-director (if applicable). This registration must be accepted by the director(s) of the Master's Thesis.
  • Partial delivery: During the course, meetings will be held with the TFM management. At this review point, partial delivery of the project is required, as the work done so far.
  • Final delivery: The final report of the work will be deposited.
  • Defense: The work carried out will be presented before a specific court.

The coordination of each program will define both the deadlines for registration and partial deliveries, as well as the public defense periods of the Master's Final Projects for the ordinary and extraordinary call.

The student must submit a report and carry out a personalized public defense. In those university Master's degrees in which group work is carried out, it will be necessary to define the role or personal work of the student body and, although there may be a common part, the individual part must be made explicit.

4.COURT MEMBERS

The court is made up of at least, and usually, a president and two members. Of the three members of the tribunal, at least one must be a professor of the program. The MFT director may be part of the tribunal as a member, at the discretion of the academic coordination of the degree.

5.STUDENT RESPONSABILITIES

If the defense of the MFT is subject to the publication of the grades of some subject(s), the student must inform the degree coordinator.

In the event of not being able to defend in the scheduled call, for academic reasons or other situations, the report will be retained by the academic secretary. In this case, the student must request the presentation for the call that he/she deems appropriate, as long as he/she is enrolled, informing the academic secretary and the degree's coordination.

Some degrees may have complementary standards in some aspects of the MFT that must be respected. In this sense, the instructions of the degree coordination should be consulted.

6.INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The intellectual property of all final degree or master's thesis defended in a School or Faculty on campus belongs to La Salle – Universitat Ramon Llull. Exceptionally, the management of the School or Faculty may transfer these rights to the student or company that requests it. This issue must be absolutely resolved before the defense of the TFM.

7.FORMAL ASPECTS OF THE REPORT TO BE DELIVERED

The report must include:

  • Official covers of La Salle-URL
  • A summary (in Catalan, Spanish and English)

The report must comply with the formal requirements and the extension defined by the specific regulations of each School or Faculty, if any, the degree report, the academic guide for the Master's Final Thesis or the coordination of the degree.

The students of La Salle – Universitat Ramon Llull must comply with these Regulations. If there are also specific regulations applicable to a degree, the coordination of the mentioned degree will make them known to the student body.

PROCESS

Before starting the registration, the project must have been agreed upon with the MFT director and both must agree, in addition to having the approval of the degree coordination regarding the director's assignment of the project student. The MFT director must accept the request.

1.ENROLMENT REQUEST

Through registration, the MFT director is selected and the MFT title is registered. In the event that there is also a co-director, only one of the two co-directors will be responsible for the data.

The request for a project is made for an academic year through the eSecretary and must be done within the deadlines established by the degree coordination.

If you want to change the MFT director, you must request the academic person responsible for the degree.

1.1.Enrolment acceptance or rejection

The MFT director receives an e-mail with the student's request. Through this entry, the MFT director can accept or reject the registration. In both cases, the student will receive an email. If she rejects it, the "Request for registration of the designer" entry disappears from the MFT director's folder and students must return to step 1. If they accept it, it becomes a new entry called "Project in progress".

1.2.Enrolment modification

Once the registration is validated, the student may make modifications to the TFM registration that may be validated or rejected by the TFM director in the same way as in the acceptance or rejection of the registration.

2.PARTIAL DELIVERY

The coordination of the degree will indicate the deadlines and requirements of the partial delivery(s) of the MFT, as well as the way in which said partial delivery must be registered.

3.FINALIZATION OF THE PROJECT

To complete the delivery of the MFT, and before the deadline to submit the report, the student must enter their MFT folder again through the esecretary, select the "Project in progress" icon, enter the summary (abstract ) of the project, include the work report in electronic format and activate the "Request for completion" option. The MFT director will again have the option to accept or reject the termination. If you accept it, the "Project in progress" entry will become "Project finished", and can no longer be modified.
