Specific competences:
- E-24 Ability to do market research, valuations, and estate agent´s viability research, expert´s report, and economic valuation of building risks and damages.
And all those specific competences related to the subject stated at the `White Book´.
Students who complete our course on Applied Economic acquire the knowledge related to the business concept, its institutional framework, financing sources and making strategic decisions, basic knowledge about the Public Administrations´ legal system and the procedures for public and private hiring; and develop the following skills to manage the estate agent´s process and to organize small companies and participating in multidisciplinary teams:
1. A basic general knowledge of the area of study.
2. To identify forms and certain situations in a multi-disciplinary environment and also on an individual basis.
3. To understand the impact of the economy and financial world on society and the important of working in an ethical professional environment.
4. To consolidate the knowledge of the economic area of the property sector.
5. Effective written and oral communication.
6. To understand all the contemporary aspects related to the practice of the profession along with the need for a continuous form of training.

1st Part
1. Introduction to Economics
2. Factors of production: Relation and retribution.
3. Market situation: Supply and demand of the sector.
4. Macroeconomic indicators: productions, income and expenditure
5. Money, income and the financial policy: Inflation and the price of money
2nd Part
6. The company and the director.
7. Construction sector: Specific considerations.
8. Treasury and credit management.
9. The property sector: Financiers.
3rd Part
10. Introduction to general accounting.
11. Regulation in the accounting process.
12. The basic accounting cycle.
Basically the theory is taught in the lectures where the theoretical content is explained and which are accompanied by practical examples of real-life and recent cases. Problems and questions related to each of these situations are proposed and developed, then, after a short length of time they are resolved by the teacher in the same session/class, thus obtaining a higher level of student´s participation in the subject, a higher level of involvement in the content of the class and a more active attitude making the course more attractive and more closely bound to current affairs.
This implies to give and acquire:
- Knowledge of the basic principles of the area of study.
- Basic knowledge of the profession.
- Ability to put knowledge acquired into practice.
- Initiative and entrepreneur spirit
- Capacity to work in an interdisciplinary team.
Contents in ETCS credits:
Total on-site hours: 50%, 3 ETCS credits divided in:
Lecture class hours: (IS/IT/CS/E) 38% (2,3 ETCS)
Practical class hours: (CS/E) 12% (0,7 ETCS)

7. The objective´s achievement evaluation
In order to evaluate the achieved level of the stated objectives, the following instruments and evaluating criteria will be used:

It is necessary to consider competences 6, 7, 8, 9.

- The student must understand every contemporary aspect related with his/her profession and the necessity to be continuously trained [J].
Attendance is considered to be very important on the course given that much of the material studied is completely new for the majority of the students.
The programme is divided into three parts:
-1st part) Theory of Economics. When this part is over, students have to take a partial exam with questions and problems (A, C).
- 2nd part) General administration (C).
- Part 3) General accounts, resolution of a practical exercise (A).
The students who have not obtained the necessary results in the term exams must take a general exam at the end of the course
The students can calculate their final grade with their term exams´ average if they got a grade equal or higher than 4 in their term exams.
Students with a grade lower than 4 have to re-take the term exams in the general exam at the end of the course, Grades below 4 cannot be averaged and therefore the student is not allowed to pass the course.
Each term exam is a 30% of the final grade and the remaining 10% is made up of class attendance and participation.
