On Friday, January 27, starting at 11:30 a.m., the thesis reading by PhD student Adrià Mallorquí Campà, will take place in the Sala de Graus of La Salle Campus Barcelona. The thesis is entitled "Trustworthiness Mechanisms for Long-Distance Networks in the Internet of Things", carried out under the direction of Dr. Agustín Zaballos Diego.

The doctoral thesis aims to achieve reliable data exchange in a hostile environment by improving its reliability by designing a complete model that takes into account the different layers of reliability and by implementing the countermeasures associated with the model. It focuses on the use case of the SHETLAND-NET project, with the objective of deploying a hybrid Internet of Things (IoT) architecture with LoRa and vertical incidence ionospheric wave (NVIS) communications to offer a telemetry service for the monitoring of "permafrost" in Antarctica.

The court is made up of Dr. Diego López-de-Ipiña González-de-Artaza, Dr. Joan Navarro Martín and Dr. Victor Manuel Carneiro Diaz.
