Objectives

In this multidimensional workshop students investigate the architectural project from a triple perspective: the one relating to the urban or territorial context in which it is built, the one relating to its conception and representation and the one relating to the technology and building efficiency.

Contents

The workshop´s specific objective consists in the development of a relevant element from its project, recognized in a location and including the multidimensional of the master.
The context of the project is the Catalonian shore of the Mediterranean Sea, and its study target is the touristic settlements that have the capacity to re-generate themselves by altering some of the urban and architectonic spaces. The final objective is to establish sustainable recycling rules to improve the cycle of life of the weaves related to the place´s economic, cultural and historical reality.

Methodology

Groups of 2 or 3 members will work in different zones that correspond to the different typologies and problems of the Catalonian-seaboard touristic settlements according to the theme of sustainable regeneration.
The workshop´s work will also includes presentations about renovation urban interventions in touristic settlements.

Evaluation

The evaluation depends on the competences of each subject.

Evaluation Criteria

The evaluation will be based on the participation (discussion of the different works, interchange ideas with other groups) and on the presentation of the work about sustainable regeneration developed on one of the touristic settlements.
