La Salle-URL Higher Technical School of Architecture (ETSALS) is organizing one of the events within the official programme of Barcelona 2026 World Capital of Architecture. The Schools of Today. Schools of Tomorrow conference aims to rethink the teaching of architecture and urban planning in response to the profound changes affecting contemporary cities, which are increasingly demanding in terms of resilience, adaptation to new emergencies, social awareness, and the integration of technological advances.
In this context, the sessions propose a critical reflection on the evolution of architectural education and on the extent to which pedagogical approaches should adapt to new urban realities. Based on the direct experience of several international schools, the conference is conceived as a space for knowledge exchange, debate, and the review of teaching methodologies in light of future challenges.
The sessions are open to the public, do not require prior registration, and will take place on April 13, 15, and 17, from 3.30 pm to 8.00 pm, at the Auditori of the Sant Josep Building at La Salle Campus Barcelona.
All conferences and roundtables can be followed via streaming.
