How do we protect ourselves in the digital environment?  

This day, which is celebrated on the second day of the second month of each year, reminds us that online security is everyone's responsibility: from individual users to companies and organizations operating in the digital world.

Education is the first line of defense in the fight against online threats. Passwords are the first barrier of protection for our online accounts. It is important to use strong passwords that are difficult to guess and change them regularly. In addition, it is recommended to enable two-factor authentication, when an additional layer of security can be added.

We should be aware of what information we share online and with whom we share it. Reviewing and adjusting the privacy settings on our social networks and online accounts can help limit the amount of personal information that is publicly available.  

Software Updates and Antivirus

Keeping our devices updated with the latest software versions and having reliable antivirus software installed can help protect against malware and other online threats.

When surfing the Internet, it is important to be wary of links and attachments in emails or instant messages. Avoiding clicking on suspicious links or downloading files from untrusted sources can help prevent malware infections.
