From the 1960s to the present decade, the name of Joseph Ratzinger has been fundamental in many areas of European and world public life, above all as pastor of the Catholic Church and as a university intellectual. In this session organized by the URL and that we host on our campus, we will focus on this second aspect. Taking into account what has been said about him in the media, four words could highlight his personality as a wise man: consistency, lucidity, depth and melancholy. We propose these concepts as the beginning of our friendly tribute round table. Participants:
- Carles Llinàs: PhD in Philosophy from the UAB (1995), with a thesis on the philosophical-theological thought of Ramon Llull, awarded by the Institut d'Estudis Catalans. He is currently a professor at URL and Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy La Salle-URL.
- Juan Ramón La Parra: Presbyter. Professor at the Faculty of Communication and International Relations Blanquerna-URL. Doctor in Theology (2015) from the Pontifical Gregorian University. He has a degree in Chemical Sciences and a chemical engineer from IQS-URL. He is a professor at the Faculty of Theology of Catalonia.
- David Lorenzo: Member of the Bioethics Research Group of the Borja Institute of Bioethics-URL. Graduate in Humanities from Pompeu Fabra University (1999) and PhD in Humanities and Social Sciences from the UIC (2005). He is a professor of Anthropology and Ethics at the San Juan de Dios School of Nursing (Barcelona).
- Armando Jesús Pego: Professor of Humanities. Principal investigator of one of the research lines of the Smart Society Research Group of La Salle-URL. He has a degree and a PhD in Hispanic Philology (Extraordinary Award) from the Complutense University of Madrid, specializing in the area of Literary Theory.
- Llorenç Puig: Jesuit. Professor of Ethics at IQS-URL. PhD in Physical Sciences from the UAB (1995). Graduated in Theology from the Sèvres Center in Paris (2006). He has been a delegate of the Jesuits in Catalonia and director of the Center for Christianity and Justice.
