Oriol Guasch Fortuny

Dr. Oriol Guasch is a Full Professor in the Department of Engineering at La Salle, Universitat Ramon Llull (URL) in Barcelona, where he heads the HER (Human Environment Research) group and leads research in acoustics, audio, and vibrations. He holds a degree in Physics from the Universitat de Barcelona (UB) and a PhD in Computational Mechanics and Applied Mathematics from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). His research covers computational acoustics and aeroacoustics, with a special emphasis on the numerical generation of voice, as well as various areas of vibroacoustics, including acoustic black holes, fluid&structure interaction with turbulence, graph theory applied to mid- and high-frequency modelling, transmission path analysis, and parametric array technology for generating audible sound from collimated ultrasonic beams. Dr. Guasch has published extensively in leading international journals and conferences, holds three patents, has organized and chaired multiple sessions at international congresses, and serves as Subject/Associate Editor for the Journal of Sound and Vibration and Acta Acustica. He has led and participated in numerous national and international research projects.
