La Salle – Universitat Ramon Llull is launching the University Volunteering Office, an initiative promoted within the framework of the Social Board Council (SBC), the campus Social Council of Organisations, to facilitate the participation of the entire university community in social volunteering projects and collaboration with third-sector organisations.
The new Technical Office for Impact University Volunteering (VUI) is structured around two lines of action: Social Action Placements (PAS), a curricular initiative linked to the Thought and Creativity (PiC3) course, which enables students to take part in placements with social organisations during one semester; and a second line focused on students, faculty and all campus staff, who are offered an open and ongoing volunteering programme recognised by La Salle – Universitat Ramon Llull.
The model includes initial training, personalised placement, coordination with organisations, and opportunities for follow-up and reflection. Activities will therefore take place in areas such as education and leisure, sport, culture, cooperation, the environment and animal welfare, and will support people and groups in vulnerable situations.
The PAS-VUI Technical Office will have both a physical and virtual presence and will coordinate the programme between the university, the educational community and third-sector organisations, ensuring ongoing follow-up, support and guidance. In this way, third-sector organisations will be able to channel their volunteering opportunities through the office, enabling anyone in the campus community who wishes to do so to take part.
The Social Board Council was established during the 2024-25 academic year as a space for dialogue and collaboration between the university and social organisations to jointly address social challenges and contribute to the sustainable development of society. With the creation of the Technical Office, this framework for collaboration is expanded to incorporate new opportunities for participation for the university community, while also facilitating a more continuous relationship with third-sector organisations.
