La Salle-URL helps launch the new Acadèmia de les Arts Digitals

The campus is one of the two founding sponsors of the new organisation and has a strong representation on its Board of Directors

La Salle-URL reaffirms its commitment to the advancement of the digital arts through its role as a founding sponsor of the Acadèmia de les Arts Digitals, a new independent association established to bring together, represent and raise the profile of the digital arts sector in Catalonia. Together with Layers of Reality, the campus is one of only two founding sponsors of the new organisation.

La Salle-URL's involvement with the Academy extends well beyond its institutional support. Xavi Bové, Director of the Bachelor's Degree in Digital Arts: New Media and Concept Art and the Master's Degree in Digital Arts and Creative Technologies at La Salle-URL, serves as one of its Vice Presidents. In addition, Tatiana Halbach, a lecturer on the master's programme, has been appointed President, while Aleix Fernández Curell, also a lecturer on the programme, serves as the Academy's second Vice President. Furthermore, several other professionals linked to the campus are members of the new organisation, highlighting La Salle-URL's role as one of the leading academic and professional references in the field of digital arts in Catalonia.

The Acadèmia is created to give the sector a voice and structure

Founded by more than twenty professionals from the fields of artistic creation, research, education, culture and digital technologies, the Acadèmia de les Arts Digitals aims to build a strong community, promote best practices, advocate for the rights of professionals and contribute to the recognition of a sector seeking to strengthen its trajectory and institutional recognition.

Its main areas of activity include the preservation of digital heritage, the promotion of research and critical thinking in the field of digital arts, the international promotion of the sector, and the creation of the Acadèmia de les Arts Digitals Awards, which will annually recognise outstanding talent, excellence and contributions to the field. The Academy was officially launched on 1 July at Barcelona XRLAB – Palo Alto, during an event that brought together professionals, institutions and leading figures from the digital arts ecosystem to present the organisation's objectives and its initial programme of activities.

Commitment to the advancement of digital arts

Through this initiative, La Salle-URL further strengthens its position as one of the leading institutions in the field of digital arts. With a specialised academic offering and a transdisciplinary ecosystem that brings together education, research, innovation and knowledge transfer, the campus continues to promote initiatives that contribute to the advancement of a sector undergoing profound transformation and exerting an increasing impact across the cultural, creative and technological spheres.
