As part of the Barcelona International Youth Science Challenge (BIYSC), the international residential science programme organised by the Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera, La Salle Campus Barcelona, founding member of the Universitat Ramon Llull, is coordinating the workshop Acoustic Engineering at La Pedrera: from Field–Lab to Immersive Experiences, an initiative that brings together acoustic engineering, architectural heritage and immersive technologies.

Over two weeks, participants will work at both La Pedrera and the Interactive Arts & Science Laboratory (IASlab) at La Salle-URL to analyse the acoustic behaviour of the spaces designed by Antoni Gaudí. The project combines fieldwork, hands-on experimentation in state-of-the-art laboratories and digital tools to explore how architecture shapes sound perception and how this data can be transformed into immersive experiences.

The workshop offers a practical, transdisciplinary learning experience, introducing students to real-world acoustic engineering methodologies while highlighting the collaboration between La Salle-URL, Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera and BIYSC in delivering high-level international projects that connect science, technology, architecture and cultural heritage.
