La Salle Campus Barcelona, a founding member of Universitat Ramon Llull, participated in the NAFSA 2026 Annual Conference, one of the world's leading international higher education events, held in Orlando from May 25 to 29 under the theme “Global by Design.” The conference brought together education leaders from around the world to discuss the challenges and opportunities that will shape the future of the sector. La Salle-URL was represented by its General Director, Josep M. Santos; the Head of the General Management Office and Institutional Relations, Nina Hofmann; and Víctor Alves, Head of International Relations.
The NAFSA Conference continues to serve as a key platform for fostering collaboration among universities, organizations, and higher education networks worldwide, promoting the development of new partnerships and opportunities for international cooperation. Within this framework, Josep M. Santos participated in several strategic sessions focused on university leadership in times of uncertainty, the impact of artificial intelligence on the transformation of higher education, and internationalization as a driver of institutional development and influence.
Among the most significant events of this year's edition were the Presidents, Vice Chancellors, and Rectors Summit, the Presidents Roundtable, and the Symposium on Leadership: Reimagining Global Leadership in the Age of Artificial Intelligence, where participants explored the key challenges and opportunities reshaping the global agenda for universities. This participation further strengthened La Salle-URL's commitment to active and strategic internationalization, aligned with the major challenges and debates shaping the future of higher education. The institution viewed these forums for dialogue, collaboration, and knowledge exchange as a valuable opportunity to broaden its international outlook, strengthen its global partnerships, and continue advancing its institutional transformation and impact.
