The Social Board Council (SBC), the Social Council of Entities of La Salle-URL, held its third General Council meeting of the academic year at the headquarters of Càritas Barcelona, which hosted the event together with Fundació Habitatge Social. The session helped further strengthen a space for dialogue and collaboration between the campus and social organisations, while jointly promoting initiatives for social transformation and sustainable development.
During the session, the council welcomed three new organisations joining the SBC: Fundació Assís, Amics de la Gent Gran and Arrels Fundació. The meeting also reviewed the initiatives carried out over the last quarter, including the round table on Corporate Social Responsability, the participation of several organisations in the SDG Challenge project and the Social Action Internships, as well as the development of five Final Degree Projects and two masterclasses.
In addition, professors from La Salle-URL, Elva Ramos and Oyku Hazal, together with two campus students, presented the social entrepreneurship challenges developed from proposals made by Oxfam Intermón. Finally, the session introduced Talent Week, the employment fair organised by La Salle-URL, which in its next edition will also open its doors to social organisations.
The Social Council of Entities was created during the 2024-25 academic year as a space for connection and collaboration between the campus and social organisations, with the aim of creating initiatives that generate real impact and contribute to social transformation. Its main mission is to connect the talent and commitment of the educational community with the needs of social organisations, promoting community development, inclusion and equity.
