Joan Oliveras Torra, PhD candidate in Computer Architecture at Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) and Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). He holds an MSc in Data Science and a BSc in Industrial Engineering (UPC).

Education:
PhD in Computer Architecture (ongoing), BSC–UPC. MSc in Data Science, UPC. BSc in Industrial Engineering, UPC.

Teaching activity:
Lecturer at La Salle Campus Barcelona – Universitat Ramon Llull, contributing to courses in data science and distributed systems.

Research and knowledge transfer:
Researcher at BSC in the Data-Centric Computing group. His work focuses on optimizing inference of deep learning and large language models in distributed and cloud-edge environments, addressing latency, energy, and resource efficiency. Experience includes orchestration over Kubernetes-based infrastructures and collaboration with IBM Research.

Publications:
Co-author of peer-reviewed papers in top-tier venues (e.g., NeurIPS, ICNP) on LLM serving, cloud-edge orchestration, and distributed systems.
