La Salle Campus Barcelona, founding member of Universitat Ramon Llull, held two events in November to analyse, together with experts and professionals from the academic and business sectors, the future of professional skills in the labour market and the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in driving business innovation leadership.
Future Skills Summit: the professional skills of the future
The first of the two events was the Future Skills Summit, a virtual meeting held on 13 November in which more than 300 people connected and reflected on a single question: if 40% of professionals in Spain will lose their jobs by 2030 unless they reinvent themselves, how do we face what is coming?
The Future Skills Summit identified the skills that will shape the future and analysed what talent needs today to stand out. The speakers were Eduard Marfà, Global Marketing Director at Siemens; Vanessa Paulino, Talent Acquisition Manager at NTT Data; and Ana Oró, Chief Operating Officer at SAP. The moderator was Rosa Ma. Alsina, Director of Research and Innovation at La Salle-URL. In the round table, leading experts in management, innovation and talent development shared a clear, honest and actionable vision of the new professional landscape.
Competing, innovating and leading with AI at the Corporate Event
In a global context in which AI is redefining industries, companies and ways of life, the Corporate Event, organised by Professional & Executive Education on 27 November, invited attendees to turn AI into a real lever for business innovation and growth. More than 300 people attended a full day of talks, round tables and masterclasses on AI. The event offered a clear perspective on the challenges and opportunities that artificial intelligence poses to organisations in a global context marked by technological competition, constant disruption and the need for leadership capable of driving innovative business models.
The day began with an institutional welcome from Josep Maria Ribes, Director of the AI Observatory at La Salle-URL, and continued with a keynote by Demetri Rico, General Director of CTTI (Telecommunications and Information Technology Centre). Afterwards, Elisabet Golobardes, Vice-Rector for Academic Planning and Quality at Universitat Ramon Llull, moderated a round table featuring Jordi Feixas, professor at the Faculty of Philosophy at La Salle-URL; Mariola Urrea, expert in EU international law; Xavier Juarez, Construction Services Director at HP; and Isabel Bellot, Director of Innovation and Digital Transformation at Grant Thornton. The session also included a practical class delivered by La Salle-URL professors Agustí Miralles, Sustainability Director at Uriach, and Martín Longobuco, CEO of CD4IoT. José María Palomares, Director of Foro IA, concluded with a keynote on humanistic leadership in the digital era, before the institutional closing by Maria Pilar Torné, Director of Professional & Executive Education at La Salle-URL.
