Research Activity


Author of an intellectual biography of Franz Borkenau (2023) with an interest in the theory of totalitarianism, the histories of anti-totalitarianism and anti-communism, and pro-Soviet and pro-totalitarian thought among Western intellectuals in the 20th century. Upcoming chapter, “Arthur Koestler: The Viennese Jewish Question and the Road to Communism”, in Jews and Revolutions: Theoretical Reflections and Historical Manifestations, ed. Frank Jacob and Sebastian Venske (projected 2026/27). Contributor to Modern Age, History Today and Historia y Vida.
