La Salle Campus Barcelona, a founding member of the Universitat Ramon Llull, has hosted the 26th International Congress of the Catalan Association of Artificial Intelligence (CCIA 2024) in the campus facilities with the aim of analyzing and debating about the current moment of AI and the uses and challenges that arise from it. The congress was held at a time of change in which the development of this technology is shaping the beginning of a new era of profound changes.
Between the 2nd and the 4th of October, the campus has brought together experts and researchers from all over the world to debate and analyze the present and the future of this discipline. Among the topics covered in the papers, conferences and presentations are AI applications; solving AI problems; agent and multi-agent systems; artificial neural networks and evolutionary systems; artificial vision and image processing / perception; cognitive modeling; data mining; ethical and legal aspects of AI; human-machine communication; human-robot interaction; machine learning; natural language processing; robotics; and virtual agents.
ACIA, an association that promotes research and innovation in AI
The Catalan Association of Artificial Intelligence (ACIA) is a non-profit scientific association for the advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Catalan society. Its main objective is to support the Catalan fabric that does research and innovation in AI, facilitating communication between people and organizations involved in AI. In addition, the ACIA promotes social, cultural, scientific, economic and governmental awareness in this area.
