La Salle Campus Barcelona, a founding member of the Universitat Ramon Llull, hosts the presentation of the new issue of Qüestions de vida cristiana, the publication of the Fundació Joan Maragall. The event will be held on June 6 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sala de Graus and will feature speakers who have participated in the writing of this new volume focused on artificial intelligence.
The round table to present the publication is made up of the Director of Research and Innovation at La Salle Campus Barcelona and member of the board of trustees of the Fundació Joan Maragall, Rosa Ma. Alsina; the Professor at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and Researcher at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC), Jordi Torres; and the physicist and poet, David Jou. All three will analyze the main debates and challenges that have emerged as a result of the emergence of artificial intelligence.
In this new edition of the magazine, the origins, history and evolution of the various types of artificial intelligence are addressed, some ideas are demystified, differentiating it from natural intelligence or human thought, and the wide range of opportunities and risks it can bring are put on the table. At the same time, a reflection is proposed on the consequences of artificial intelligence in relation to ethical, theological, religious, spiritual and ecclesial issues.
