Marc Arnela Coll

Dr. Marc Arnela is an associate professor in the Department of Engineering at La Salle-URL in Barcelona, where he also leads the Acoustics Lab. He holds a 5-year degree in Telecommunications Engineering with a specialization in Image and Sound (2009), a master¿s in Network and Telecommunications Engineering (2010), and a PhD in Acoustic Engineering (2015), all from La Salle-URL. He also earned a professional degree in Music Education, specializing in piano (2009), from the Conservatori Municipal de Música de Barcelona.
His research focuses on numerical simulation of the human voice, especially acoustic modeling of the vocal tract using FEM; parametric array loudspeakers based on ultrasonically modulated beams; and room acoustics, particularly in heritage buildings. He is also interested in acoustic black holes in ducts and mufflers and in promoting noise-control awareness through soundwalks.
He has participated in multiple R&D projects and published extensively in scientific journals and conferences. He teaches experimental acoustics and coordinates the MSc in Acoustics, Audio and Vibrations and the Master in Architectural and Environmental Acoustics.
