Guillem Villa Fernández

Guillem Villa Fernández is a lecturer at La Salle Campus Barcelona, Universitat Ramon Llull (URL), where he has been teaching since 2006. He holds degrees in Multimedia Engineering (2005) and Computer Engineering (2006), as well as a Master´s degree in Digital Audiovisual Communication and Production (2008), a Master´s degree in Multimedia Creation, Design and Engineering (2011), and a Master´s degree in Teacher Training (2016). He is currently working on his doctoral thesis at Universitat Ramon Llull, focusing on the impact of group tutoring sessions on academic performance and student retention in Engineering education, using statistical techniques and explanatory and predictive models.

Since 2022, he has been the Coordinator of the Bachelor´s Degree in Multimedia Engineering and, since 2018, the Coordinator of the Bachelor´s Degree in Design and Creation of Interactive Products. Previously, he coordinated research projects in the field of multimedia from 2005 to 2013 and served as Academic Coordinator of the Postgraduate Programme in Digital Photography in 2013. His research interests include learning analytics, educational data mining, educational coaching, and the study of academic performance and university dropout. His academic and professional experience also encompasses multimedia technologies, digital interaction, audiovisual production, and digital design. He has participated in international cooperation projects in Peru and Togo.
