La Salle-URL Students Present Innovative Solutions to Real Business Challenges

Nestlé, Danone, Accenture, Parlem, SIMON and NTT Data take part in an initiative that puts classroom knowledge into practice

La Salle Campus Barcelona, a founding member of Universitat Ramon Llull, promotes collaboration with the business world so that students can work on real-life situations and apply the knowledge acquired in the classroom. During the 2025–26 academic year, undergraduate students proposed solutions to challenges presented by Parlem, Danone, Accenture, Nestlé, SIMON and NTT Data. All of these companies are members of the Corporate Board Council (CBC), La Salle-URL’s Business Council.

These challenges were designed to bring students closer to real professional environments, where they developed solutions to the needs identified by the participating companies. Among the topics addressed was the development of new models and strategies for decision-making powered by artificial intelligence.

Ana Ochoa, Global IT & Digital Barcelona Hub Manager at Nestlé, highlighted the value of this collaboration on her LinkedIn profile: “Taking part in this experience has been extremely rewarding. Beyond the quality of the proposals presented, what truly stood out was the students’ ability to approach challenges from new perspectives, combining analysis, creativity and deep understanding. These initiatives allow us to connect with the professionals of the future, learn from their innovative approaches, and continue driving growth, innovation and mutual learning together.”

Meanwhile, Silvia Garriga Picón, a student in the Bachelor’s Degree in Technology Business Management, shared her experience on LinkedIn: “Participating in this challenge together with Nestlé was an exceptional opportunity to get closer to the reality of the business world. Working on a proposal to strengthen coffee consumption loyalty in the HORECA channel allowed us to tackle a real challenge, collaborate as a team and develop innovative solutions with a direct impact on the business.” She added: “Presenting our project at Nestlé’s offices was especially rewarding, and even more so when we learned that our proposal had been selected as the winning one. Initiatives like this demonstrate the great value of collaboration between universities and companies”.

Finally, another student from the same degree programme, Mar Mitjana Viles, referred to her experience with SIMON in a LinkedIn post: “The visit to SIMON was a highly enriching experience, both academically and personally. As a student, I found it very inspiring to learn firsthand about the journey of a company with more than 100 years of history. Taking part in the SIMON Signature project allows us to tackle real challenges from a creative and professional perspective”.

The results of the project reinforce La Salle Campus Barcelona’s hands-on learning model, based on the learning by doing approach, which prepares students to adapt and lead in complex technological environments.
