La Salle-URL hosts the XIII 'Encuentro' of the IALU

Universities of La Salle from around the world meet between November 10 and 12 in Barcelona to rethink the future of higher education

The International Association La Salle Universities (IALU), the organization made up of the 64 universities of La Salle from around the world, celebrates the Encuentro, its triennial meeting, between November 7 and 12. During the event, the state of higher education on a global scale will be evaluated and future strategies will be planned —which will be framed in the IALU Action Plan 2025— to favor social innovation, accessible quality education and the education of agents of qualified and committed transformation.

The IALU Encuentro, which celebrates its XIII edition, will have two venues: from November 7 to 9 at the Beauvais campus of UniLaSalle France, and from November 10 to 12 at La Salle Campus Barcelona. Representatives of the 64 universities that make up the IALU, experts in university education and members of the Lasallian community will participate in the organized activities. The Encuentro will be attended in Beauvais by the Superior General of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, Brother Armin Luistro, and in Barcelona by the Vicar General of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, Brother Carlos Gómez. In addition, Peter J. Wells, Head of UNESCO in Higher Education, will be the special guest.

The motto of the event is 'Transforming the future together'  and alludes to the main objective of the IALU: to promote quality university education in today's diverse world from a commitment to Catholic values. La Salle, through the IALU, puts on the table the need to rethink higher education to adapt it to the needs of the current world context through specific projects that will be specified during this meeting. Among the planned activities is a Eucharist at the Sagrada Família.
