La Salle-URL, first in Architecture in Spain according to the Ranking CYD

Universitat Ramon Llull se sitúa en el top10 de universidades españolas y es la primera universidad privada de Catalunya en la clasificación global

The Fundación CYD has published the results of the Ranking CYD 2025, one of the leading national rankings, and Universitat Ramon Llull, of which La Salle Campus Barcelona is a founding member, leads the ranking in Architecture programs offered through the La Salle-URL Higher School of Architecture (ETSALS). Furthermore, Universitat Ramon Llull remains in the top 10 Spanish universities and in 5th place in Catalonia, the only private Catalan university ranked among the top ten in Spain. Likewise, in Computer Engineering and Telecommunications Engineering programs offered through the La Salle-URL Digital Engineering School (ETSELS), URL is ranked as the best private university in Catalonia.

These results highlight the academic excellence of the Architecture programs offered at the La Salle-URL School of Architecture, which draws on the talent of top-level architects and promotes practical training based on a learning-by-doing approach. The curriculum combines scientific and technical content with a solid cultural and humanistic foundation. "We are committed to internationalization, transversality, and personalized learning, adapting to the demands of the sector and fostering the exchange of ideas between different cultures and ways of understanding architecture," emphasizes Josep Ferrando, Director of the School.

The ranking reinforces La Salle-URL's position as a leading university center for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) studies. It also consolidates the quality of the engineering programs offered by the La Salle-URL School of Engineering, as well as the campus's commitment to promoting the development of a more just and sustainable society through technology and humanism.

For its part, the URL stands out for the fifth consecutive year in the international orientation dimension, achieving maximum performance in six of the seven indicators and ranking second in Spain. The URL also performs well in the contribution to regional development dimension, achieving maximum performance in three of the four quality indicators. Thus, the university achieves third place in Spain, a milestone that demonstrates the university's strong level of interaction with its regional environment through internships, research, publications, and local funding.

To compile this institutional ranking, the Fundación CYD collaborates with 82 universities and analyzes 30 areas of knowledge and 3,454 degree programs. The participating universities represent 93% of the higher education institutions in the Spanish university system that offer undergraduate degrees and are evaluated based on 38 indicators grouped into five dimensions: teaching and learning; research; knowledge transfer; international orientation; and contribution to regional development.
