La Salle Campus Barcelona establishes new collaborations and consolidates alliance networks in North America

Campus representatives attend NAFSA 2025 conference and visit campuses in California and New York

La Salle Campus Barcelona, a founding member of Universitat Ramon Llull, was present at NAFSA 2025 Annual Conference & Expo, the most relevant international education conference and exhibition in the sector, which was held in San Diego (California) between May 27 and 30. Representing the campus and as part of the Universitat Ramon Llull delegation, Nina Hofmann, Head of the Management and Institutional Relations Office, and Víctor Alves, Senior International Relations Officer, traveled.

The NAFSA annual conference is a showcase of opportunities to strengthen ties between regions of the world, universities, networks and higher education organizations. In this sense, La Salle-URL has participated in several bilateral meetings and events organized by the networks of which it is a part, such as the Strategic Alliance of Catholic Research Universities (SACRU), organized by the Australia Catholic University, as well as receptions promoted by the university systems of Switzerland, Australia and Hong Kong, the traditional reception at the fair of the Catalan university system, as hosts, and by other strategic partners such as the University of Monterrey or California State University.

Among the areas explored are possible double degrees, tailor-made programs and participation in summer schools, with special interest in areas such as engineering, architecture, philosophy, bioengineering and sports management. North American institutions have been receptive to establishing links with La Salle-URL, due to the attraction capacity of the knowledge ecosystem and the academic value proposition of the campus.

In addition, he also participated in a meeting with members of the International Association of La Salle Universities (IALU) present at NAFSA, with the aim of strengthening the global Lasallian network and especially the La Salle Business School Alliance with representatives of universities from the United States, Mexico and the Philippines.

In the days following the conference, Víctor Alves visited several universities in California and New York to promote new alliances and projects, consolidating collaboration between university centers and establishing new avenues of cooperation in a trip framed within the campus's internationalization strategy to strengthen the global skills of students and take advantage of the opportunities offered by international networks.
