Seven students from La Salle Dasmariñas, Philippines, participated in the Architecture workshop of the Summer School: "Barcelona, port towards the sea".

They had the opportunity to know the architecture of the city and its main links with the Mediterranean. The workshop focused specifically on the relationship between architecture and the sea and the advantages of the geographical situation of Barcelona that has allowed the establishment of cultures of the Mediterranean Sea. In addition, the historical ties of Empúries (Girona) and Tarragona have been thoroughly analyzed.

These four weeks have been structured through guided visits by prestigious professors, doctors and architects of La Salle-URL such as: David Soldevila, Neus Mateu, Marcos Arnal, Eulàlia Busquets, Laia Vives and Xavier Martín. The workshops have been carried out with the aim of reflecting the students on the knowledge of the history of the built to project an architecture that can last for a long time and to be able to study its possibilities of the reuse of space. In addition, they have also wanted to know the traditional and contemporary architectural solutions of conceptual and formal quality in relation to the place, climate and environment.

Finally, we wanted to ensure that students use criteria of sustainability in the movement, construction, use of materials and energy consumption in the life of the building. It has been visited: the Cathedral, Plaza Sant Jaume, Plaza del Rey, Barceloneta, Diagonal, les Glories, Born, Old Town of Cadaqués, Tarragona, among others. It has been a satisfying and productive experience for our students.
