Management IT and Information Systems II

Description
This class continues the analysis on the business applications of information systems and challenges the strategical thinking of the role of Information Technologies for both existing consolidated enterprises and new ventures. Unlike in MIS1 where students received presentations about the different techniques, tools and processes of managing the information and IT functions, MIS2 focus more on hands-on exercise to put into practice the knowledge acquired during the previous year.

This course seeks to help you in:
- Be familiar with the latest business technology concepts.
- Be able to understand the role that technology can play in management settings.
- Be aware of the opportunities and limitations of Information Systems and decision-making.
- Be able to identify the ethical issues that may arise from the use of IS.

Methodology

This course is structured into four blocks related to the main roles of the technology on the business.
These are Customer Relationship Management, Business Internal Processes, Supplier and Distributor Management and finally Business intelligence and Analytics. The class will be divided into small groups of 4-5 students. Each group will be assigned a business project from our laboratory of projects. They will drive their project through the 4 blocks and for each of them, they have to deliver every three weeks the specific deliverable that will conclude the phase.

Evaluation

The course grade will be based on the following point breakdown:
Individual Attendance: 5%
Group Intermediate Presentations (3) 15%
Group Project Presentation: 35%
Individual Midterm exam: 15%
Individual Final exam: 20%
Individual Presentation of a new Technology: 10%
