Description
It is studied the steps to follow in the design and development of technological based products. The issue will have three key supports of study: -The methodologies and processes of innovation to come to the concept of new product or service and as these they are implemented in a managerial environment. -Methodology of project management, focused on projects of innovation and introducing the factors of risk that these imply. -Environment Management. How does do change management, implication of the organization, production, and so on.

Methodology

The subject will be given on the basis of theoretical and practical classes where the theoretical concepts were applied. The class will be divided in groups of 3 or 4 persons who were working in team to solve the cases that appear in class, as well as a final work of the issue will done in collaboration with a company that students have to choose with the help of the teacher. The theoretical classes will be given as magisterial classes with help of material multimedia (as projector, video or PC). The teacher will explain the subject and it will complement it with his own experience. The students will have a bibliographical support to follow the subject, as well as references to Internet.

The practice classes will be focused in study cases connected with the issue of the class. Cases will be given in class to be worked them at home by the student. Later the students in teams of 3 or 4 persons will comment the cases and will propose a solution together. This work will have the support of the teacher. Finally the cases with the solution will be exposed in class.

The teacher will correct the cases and will evaluate the public presentations.

Evaluation

The evaluation of the subject will be done under the following criteria:

A. Exams
D. Homework
F. Work in groups
I. Presentations

Will be a final exam which represents the 50% of the note and evaluate the theoretical part of the issue and the capacity to execute a design process and development of new products (case resolution).

Work done in class, individually and in group, represents the other 50% of the note. The students will be evaluated depending on the work asked for at the beginning of the course.
The final grade will be the sum of both grades, but both must be proved separately.

Evaluation Criteria

The objectives will be evaluated by the following way:

- Objective 1: To acquire the basic knowledge of a creative process and to acquire the creative aptitudes to come to the conception of a new product / service, afterwards analyze different sources of information and to take decisions from this information [A, D, F,I].

- Objective 2: Understanding the concept of innovation, its management and how it is applied to the company in a form of project. How is needed to manage it, a follow-up and alterations if there are diversions [D, F, I].

- Objective 3: Working in teams and with a multidisciplinary team where the management of the project and of the team is very important to manage to obtain what is wished [F,I].

- Objective 4: Capacity of adjustment and of overcoming problem in a process of implantation of the changes to produce a new product or service [D,F,I].

- Objective 5: Developing the aptitude to organize and manage projects, teams of persons, situations of change and the logistics of the production of a new product and introduction on the market [D,F,I].
