More than 300 students of the Master’s and Postgraduate courses in the areas of Architecture and Building and Engineering at La Salle Campus Barcelona-URL, along with the students of the Master’s Degree in Teacher Training at Blanquerna-URL and La Salle-URL, celebrated their graduation ceremony on 12 November.
The celebration was attended by Josep M. Santos, General Director of La Salle-URL, Josep Maria Ribes, Director of Academic Organisation at La Salle-URL, Albert Cubeles, Director of Postgraduate Studies at La Salle-URL, Carlo Gallucci, Vice-dean of International Relations and Students from URL and M. Lluisa Sánchez, partner and commercial and financial director at JSS Engineering, who generously sponsored the graduation.
Albert Cubeles highlighted that, throughout the 2018-2019 academic year, the Master’s Degree in Teacher Training received the Jaume Vicens Vives distinction for quality university teaching. He also said that this class had taken part in more cross-disciplinary activities with other subjects from the campus than ever before, with activities such as the Master as a Service, the postgraduate week, and also activities with companies.
The sponsor of the promotion, M. Lluisa Sánchez, said that, in the world of business, university is often criticised as they are not aligned. She explained, though, that La Salle-URL is aligned with the market, both because it trains professionals who meet the needs of the business world and because of the good offering of in-company training available.
Carlo Gallucci stated that La Salle is one of the main members of URL, not because of volume, but because of the high quality of its graduates.
Finally, Josep M. Santos spoke to the graduates of his conviction that they are now in a privileged position to use their knowledge and commitment to bring about change in the world to make it a better place. As he remembered St. Jean Baptiste de La Salle, he welcomed them to the La Salle-URL community of Alumni.
