The campus organizes the seminar 'Cultural Praxis for a Transmedia Architecture' to debate the cultural dimension of architecture

La Salle Campus Barcelona hosts various activities framed in the 2024 Architecture Weeks

Architecture is in continuous adaptation to adjust to the context in which it operates, to respond and face the challenges of the present and the future with a global perspective. In this line and based on the research of Architectural Logics for Emergent Contexts (ALEC), one of the research lines of La Salle Campus Barcelona, the campus has hosted Cultural Praxis for Transmedia Architecture, a seminar to give voice to cultural agents architecture, researchers, professors and curators of international impact.

Focusing on the cultural dimension of architecture, the conference has been an opportunity to open a dialogue on how architecture, understood in its broadest sense, can contribute to the configuration of spaces that reflect, question and communicate cultural, social and political values. of our time.

The conferences and round tables have revolved around topics such as climate change, the economy, politics, demography, culture or social drives, since they are issues that impact architecture, which becomes a means to read social, political and environmental dimensions of society. The conference featured prestigious speakers such as ETSALS teachers and researchers Josep Ferrando, Jordi Mansilla, Ricardo Devesa and Marta Bugés; the director of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona, Elvira Dyangani Ose; the coordinator of programs and awards of the Fundació mies van der Rohe, Ivan Blasi; or the architect and researcher Lydia Kallipoliti.

This seminar reinforces the idea that architecture is not an isolated area of knowledge, but rather something that mutates and evolves, that addresses changing and emerging contexts to seek a more just and sustainable society.
