Business Idea Contest 2019 winners announced

This week saw the final act of Business Idea Contest 2019 where the 10 finalists presented their entrepreneurial projects to the jury and the winners were announced.

The winner was the Hours project, by Jordi Muntada and Joan Muntada. It consists of a platform for renting spaces by the hour that lets people rent out any hall, premises or room they have available but don’t need in the short term.

Second place went to WelcomeTry by Jesús Aventín, a project that offers quick and efficient purchase and delivery of supplies when tourists arrive in Barcelona, so they can enjoy their stay hassle-free.

Third place was shared between the Asparagus and DeliMail projects.

The first project, created by Nathalie Wirdemark, Marcos Jover and Edvinas Alisaukas, consists of a system of personalised meals customised to user’s tastes and is based on a combination of ingredients from the platform. Each ingredient has different packaging to differentiate the type of storage required (refrigeration, for instance), with products that have a long shelf life and are suitable for microwaves and easy transport.

The other project in third place, DeliMail, by Martin Kravchenko and Sergi Terrenchs, offers weekly home delivery of new recipes and all the ingredients you need to prepare them, with an innovative, personalised nutrition plan created via an online platform that includes recipes prepared by top chefs, specialised programmes, cooking tips and health tips.

The 3 winners of the competition have won several prizes, including access to the La Salle Technova incubator and its pre-acceleration programme, as well as advice on developing their project and free tickets to the famous entrepreneurial event Four Years From Now.

Business Idea Contest is aimed at all students at La Salle Campus Barcelona, whether they be master's degree students or undergraduates in Business, Engineering, Architecture and Animation. The aim of the contest is to stimulate and support entrepreneurship and innovation among students by learning about innovative ideas that are based on the use of new technologies or which are innovative in their business models, but which haven't already been implemented in the market.
