Round Table: “Great Books and the Adventure of a Holistic Education”

On Tuesday, November 25, we will celebrate the feast day of Blessed Ramon Llull, patron of Universitat Ramon Llull, with the round table “Great Books and the Adventure of a Holistic Education.” The event will take place from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in the Sala de Graus at La Salle Campus Barcelona. This session commemorates Ramon Llull Day, celebrated every year on November 27, and is organized by the Faculty of Philosophy La Salle-URL to reflect on the legacy of one of the most important figures in Catalan culture and language.

The session will open with two introductory talks by Dr. Armando Pego, professor at the Faculty of Philosophy La Salle-URL and Director of the journal Comprendre; and Dr. Jordi Feixas, professor at the Faculty of Philosophy La Salle-URL and coordinator of the latest issue of the journal, focused on the topic of great books and humanistic education. The most recent issue of Comprendre is entitled Liberal 'Education and the “Great Books” in the 21st-Century University'.

This will be followed by a round table on the main theme of the event, moderated by Dr. Armando Pego and featuring Dr. Anna Pagès, professor at Blanquerna-URL; Dr. Oriol Quintana, professor at IQS-URL; and Dr. Núria Gómez Llauger, professor at the Faculty of Philosophy La Salle-URL and coordinator of the core course Thought and Creativity.

The event is open to the entire Universitat Ramon Llull community and free to attend for the general public.
