On May 25th, starting at 11 a.m., the thesis reading of the doctoral student Ferran Orga i Vidal will take place in the MF S.01 room (Sant Miquel Miquel Febres Building) of La Salle Campus Barcelona, entitled “Characterization of the acoustic events impact on equivalent sound levels and on citizens' perception for dynamic noise maps generation”, which has been carried out under the direction of Dra. Rosa Maria Alsina Pagès and Dr. Francesc Alías Pujol. The doctoral student is part of the GTM - Research Group on Media Technologies of La Salle Campus Barcelona

The thesis, which can be followed in streaming, focuses on its contributions to the characterization of events of urban and suburban environments to offer noise maps more faithful to the reality perceived by the citizen in relation to the sound environment where it is found. And during the thesis, the importance of sound detection on a network of acoustic sensors is shown in order to prevent measurement errors at equivalent levels and the need to train the detection system with data obtained from the same sensors on the network.

The tribunal is made up by Dr. Marc Arnela Coll, Dr. César Asensio Rivera and Dr. Francesco Aletta.
