Miquel Pons Serra

He is Chief Medical Officer at SJD Barcelona Children´s Hospital. He earned the university Degree in Medicine and Surgery at Faculty of Medicine of Autonomous University of Barcelona (1979 - 1985). He earned a specialty in Rheumatology at the Rheumatology Department of the Bellvitge Hospital (1988 ´´ 1991). He previously worked in the Althaia Foundation, in the Health&Amp; Social Care and Secondary Care Departments. Until 2005, he was the head of the Clinical Area of Badalona Healthcare Services, and from 2002 to 2005 was the Medical Director at Badalona Hospital. Between 2009 and 2011, he was advisor in various initiatives of the Catalan Hospitals Union and the Government of Catalonia´s Catalan Health Service. He also studied Clinical Management and Healthcare Service Organisation at EADA (2002). He co-authored a number of scientific books and articles concerning the musculoskeletal system and rheumatological diseases and he has been a speaker in a number of medical congresses and conferences.
