From La Salle-URL we want to provide visibility to the research work carried out on Campus, and contribute to the dissemination of knowledge among our students and educational community.
Present your Thesis in 4 minutes (PhD)
Explain your thesis in 4 minutes is a contest organized by the Fundació Catalana de la Recerca i la Innovació (FCRi), with the support of the Generalitat de Catalunya, which aims to promote the dissemination of research, encouraging the return of science to society.
The competition is aimed at doctoral students of La Salle - Ramon Llull University who are in, at least, the second year of their doctoral studies and who have not defended their thesis before the end of the period for submission of applications to the competition.
The goal is to challenge participants from any scientific discipline to explain their research to a general audience in a maximum time of 4 minutes, in a simple and easily understandable language.
6th edition (2023)
To register, participants must fill in the participation form, which can be found on this page, and send it to the email address doctorat@salle.url.edu, adding a copy to their thesis supervisor.
At La Salle Campus Barcelona this competition will take place in sala Graus on May 3rd at 12:00h.
Each URL doctoral program will be able to present one candidature in the competition. The competition "Present your thesis in 4 minutes" will be held at the Rectorate of the University on 16 May 2023.
The winner of the competition will represent the University in the inter-university competition "Present your thesis in 4 minutes", organized by the Fundació Catalana de Recerca i la Innovació (FCRi), which will take place on 22 June 2023 at the CaixaForum in Lleida. One representative from each of the Catalan universities will take part and there will be a first prize of 3,000 euros, a second prize of 2,000 euros, and a public prize of 1,000 euros. A new feature of this year's edition will be a Joan Oró special mention for the transmission of values and entrepreneurship, which will be open to theses presented in Catalan, with a cash prize of 1,000 euros.

Explain your Final Assessment in 4 minutes
Following the initiative of Fundació Catalana de Recerca, La Salle-URL announces the 1st edition of the contest “Explícanos tu trabajo final en 4 minutos”, with the aim of promoting the dissemination of research.
The contest is aimed at finalist students of La Salle-URL bachelor’s and master’s degrees who are taking a subject of the Final Degree Project (TFG) or Final Master’s Project (TFM), which have defended or are expected to defend it during the academic year 2021-22.
The goal of the contest is to explain their research to a general audience in a maximum time of 4 minutes, with a simple, understandable language with the aim of disseminating knowledge.
1st edition - 2022
The 1st edition of the contest will be held on April 27 at La Salle Campus Barcelona. To register, participants must fill in the participation form, which can be found on this page, and send it to the following e-mail address: rosamaria.alsina@salle.url.edu.
The winner of the contest will be awarded a virtual voice assistant device.
