The Interactive Arts & Science Laboratory (IASlab) is a project co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and granted by the Department of Research and Universities of the Generalitat de Catalunya through the Agència de Gestió d'Ajuts de Recerca i Universitaris (AGAUR). The project will transform the La Salle building of the University Campus into an audiovisual hub of reference in Europe. An initiative that promotes the study of the interaction between the real and virtual worlds, exploring the implications and possibilities of this future paradigm of human-machine relations in both the real world and the metaverse.

The IASlab is an immersive space in digital technologies that will study the growth of media content, art, and digital entertainment, and will also be a lever for the evolution of other sectors through their experiences. A transversal and multidisciplinary environment in which all the elements that make up the ecosystem of La Salle Campus Barcelona dialogue: research, academia, companies, startups, and other social agents.

The new digital arts, science, and entertainment laboratory have been designed as a sustainable and energy-efficient building, making the most of natural resources, reducing consumption, and optimizing and reusing all energy.

The IASlab project is co-funded by the Department of Research and Universities of the Generalitat de Catalunya, within the framework of the Call EMC/954/2019, of April 9, for the realization of unique institutional projects that enable the generation of research excellence, the attraction of talent and the development of knowledge transfer and valorization activities, through the construction, acquisition, habilitation or substantial expansion of buildings for R&D infrastructures.
