Research and knowledge transfer
Research experience at international institutions such as University of British Columbia and UPenn. Initial work focused on pancreatic beta-cell dysfunction in diabetes. Currently leads research on the impact of physical activity on chronic diseases (Parkinson’s disease and diabetes), integrating artificial intelligence and data analytics. Principal investigator of national and international competitive projects. Author of 30+ scientific publications and active participant in international conferences. Head of the Biomedicine and Nutrition area within the SAFE research group (recognized by the Government of Catalonia). Collaborates with industry on health technology development.
