At the Cloud Computing and Storage research line we address some of the challenges arisen when facing (large amounts of) data: from storage to computation, including real-time processing. Specifically, this line embraces the following three research topics:

  1. Distributed systems and databases: Replication protocols, concurrency control algorithms, graph databases.

  2. Cloud-inspired systems for scalable data storage (Big Data): Hybrid cloud architectures, transactional support on the cloud, NoSQL systems, smart data partitioning, cloud modeling.

  3. Architectures for data computing: high performance computing, parallel computing, cluster computing, cloud computing, data stream processing in real-time.
