Roger Mallol Parera holds a degree in Computer Engineering from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (2008), and a Master´s and Doctorate in Electronic Engineering from the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (2009 and 2014), as well as a Postgraduate Degree in Biostatistics from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (2012). He has published several papers at the intersection of engineering and biomedicine, has presented his papers at various conferences, and is a co-inventor of a patent. His doctoral thesis received the PIONER Award from the Institució CERCA (2014) and the Extraordinary Doctorate Award from Universitat Rovira i Virgili (2015). Roger Mallol is a founding partner of Biosfer Teslab, a spin-off company of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili in which he worked as the founding CEO (2014-2015). During this period, the company received several awards for entrepreneurship and public and private financing. He has also been part of the Research Group in Computational Biology at the University of Lausanne as a postdoctoral researcher (2015-2017) and the research group of Prof. Emilio Palomares of the Catalan Institute for Chemical Research (ICIQ) as scientific coordinator (2017-2018). He is currently a professor in the Department of Engineering at La Salle - Universitat Ramon Llull.
