The Educational Objectives of the Degree in Computer Engineering are the following:

  • PEO1. Practice the profession taking into account human, economic, social, legal and ethical aspects, including gender equality and people with disabilities.
  • PEO2. Take on responsibility roles, both technical and managerial, within organisations, and contribute to the management of information and knowledge.  Solve complex problems with the use of science, mathematics, and computer engineering principles, by conducting appropriate research and experimentation, analysis and interpretation of data, and application of engineering judgment to draw conclusions and produce solutions.
  • PEO3. Work in, manage, and lead, multidisciplinary, multicultural and collaborative teams, using the necessary communication skills, with the goal of solving a diversity of problems in the field of ICT, and communicate the solutions effectively. Produce solutions designed to meet specific needs in different areas of society using the appropriate computer engineering principles, skills and techniques.
  • PEO4. Learn in an autonomous way, keeping up-to-date with technological trends, and adapt to the evolution of society, technology and markets, in the areas of mobile applications, web development, systems administration and security, technical support and the digital economy.

The Student Outcomes of the Degree in Computer Engineering are the following:

  • SO1. An ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics.
  • SO2. An ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors.
  • SO3. An ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.
  • SO4. An ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts.
  • SO5. An ability to function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives.
  • SO6. An ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions.
  • SO7. An ability to acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies.
