RESEARCH INTERESTS
Current
research is mainly concerned with computer
vision (including structure from motion, egomotion estimation, tracking
with deformable models, visual guidance of mobile robots and interpretation of
image sequences) and multimodal interfaces fusing
vision, speech and sound for human-computer interaction (HCI). I am
particularly keen on the translation of research results into commercial
prototypes through technology transfer
agreements.
The former
topic of research was focussed on medical
image processing. The research contributed new results in segmentation of
cell’s nucleus in images of biopsies using methods based on mathematical
morphology, segmentation of coronary arteries in angiographic images and
segmentation and 3D reconstruction of bones from CAT images, especially using
deformable models.
