The Computer Engineering and Networking department carries out its research and technology transfer under the scope of the ISO 9001 management certification. The projects form the department are currently run under four separate areas of knowledge, which are referred to as:

• Computer architecture and distributed systems.
• Software engineering and Multimedia.
• Artificial Intelligence.
• Computer networks.
