The teaching and researching personnel of the Electronics and Telecommunications Department (DEC) gathers a wide experience on analogue and digital electronic design, as well as on hardware for communication and applied electromagnetism systems.
In the teaching field, DEC professors give all the specialized subjects of the degree of Engineering on Telecommunication Systems, the degree on Telecommunication Electronics, Master on Networks and telecommunications Engineering and the Master on Electronics and Automatics Engineering. We also give subjects of the Research Master which are related to the areas of expertise of our research groups.
In the field of R+D+i projects, the Electronics and Telecommunications Department (DEC) carries out an important research and development activity on basic research projects, as well as on technological transfer projects for companies, with the purpose of transferring them all the technological knowledge generated in the university. The strong entailment to the La Salle Technological and Business Innovation Park (Parc d'Innovació Tecnològica i Empresarial La Salle) allows to have a clear, close and wide vision about the business world.
Two research groups belonging to this department have obtained the distinction of Consolidated Research Group, recognized by the “Generalitat de Catalunya”:
- Research Group on Electromagnetism and Communications (GRECO)
- Implementation for High Energy Physics Laboratory (LIFAELS)
Since 2000, we belong to the Network of centers which support the Technologic Innovation of CIDEM, and it is called:
- Communications and Electromagnetic Compatibility Laboratory (LabCom).
