Visit buildings

We will go with the students to an emblematic building in which an Architect or Building Engineering will explain us, on-site, the different functions that each person that participate in the construction has.

At La Salle, we believe that beside the academic education, we should offer students a wider vision of the cultural world to awaken in them new interests.  We pretend that the university becomes an institution that enriches the student’s education. For this reason, we make “in situ” visits to emblematic places.

The workshop’s objective is that the student understands that all the knowledge expressed through graphic and written documents are shapes and textures that integrate a multi-disciplinary process that turns them into a building. As a result, students get a global vision of the profession.

In this way, the workshop has two parts: a theoretical introduction where the persons that take part in the construction process of a building are introduced and a visit to the building that is still in the building phase. The visit will be done in groups (it is recommended that the groups are maximum of 7 persons). Security regulations must be taken into account in every moment, such as the instructions that the foreman.

It is necessary that the student familiarizes with the whole building process ant understands it completely. Each taken decision has a direct effect on the building. Having a deep knowledge of the Architecture’s execution allows reasoning and taking right decisions in each intervention that the agents who participate in the building take with the objective to obtain the best result as possible. An Architecture that isn’t built can’t be understood, but at the same time, not everything that is built is Architecture.
