Late, but no too late to publish a photo about the presentation of Albert Orriols in the IWLCS (International Workshop on Learning Classifier Systems) in GECCO’08.
Congratulations and good job or in other words “Feliç sant Joan”

Francesc Teixidó (Xec) is presenting his work on building picewise linear regressors from sets of continuously-labeled data with a hierarchical evolutionary algorithm. Fluent spanglish and nice, clear slides! And the best: today night celebration for the success :). Hope to see the follow-up of the work next year in Montreal!
Today’s agenda in GECCO: best paper nominees for GAs and EDAs. Therefore, going around to pick up some new ideas on enjoying nice discussions on several topics… and getting ready for tomorrow!
Still no pictures. But tomorrow, some labbies will be caught in action.
GECCO’08 has started with a fair enough amount of interesting tutorials and Workshops. Schedule for today: International Workshop on Learning Classifier Systems. Right now, we’ve seen very interesting papers on Pitts and Michigan LCS. Its seems that RL and knowledge representation is one of the most frequent topics dealt with in all the works.
Tomorrow: best paper awards sessions for EDAs and GA. So, stay tunned for more.
